Hostel for Girls, Kfar Shmaryahu
“Neot Aviv” hostel, located in Kfar Shmaryahu, serves as a supportive-educational framework for 16 girls in distress and at-risk situations.
The hostel accepts girls from all over the country, referred through “Neara” guides, social workers under the Youth Law, probation service and diagnostic frameworks of the Youth Sponsorship Authority. The shelter’s staff includes a manager, coordinator, social worker, training staff, teaching staff and a wide team of volunteers.
The girls who stay at the shelter, aged 13-18, face a wide range of difficulties, and have the motivation and ability for a supportive process and change. The purpose of the hostel is to enable every girl to integrate within normative life, through personal development and maximal realization of her potential, and directing her toward this goal.
To meet this goal the hostel operates in all areas of the girls’ lives and provides them with education, training, care, enrichment, guidance and support, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; This is done using individual, group, family and community interventions.
The girls study in the hostel’s learning center in a program tailored to their needs and abilities, which prepares them for passing the matriculation exams.

Hostel for Boys, Ashkelon
Beit Dekel Hostel is an open community hostel founded in the summer of 1986. The hostel hosts up to 16 boys aged 17-21 and serves as a preparatory framework for life that combines education, care and rehabilitation. The framework provides an opportunity and chances for a significant change in the boys’ lives and helps them adapt to accepted social norms, all in a warm, familial and supportive atmosphere.
The hostel staff, which includes a manager, coordinator, social worker, housekeeper, national service recruit, counselors, and many volunteers, is professional and experienced in working with adolescents. The team places great emphasis on renewal, initiative and creativity, sees great importance in developing educational skills and personal talents and makes every effort to assist the boys through the supportive process and its success. The hostel offers regain belief in the boy and the importance of change. Much emphasis is placed on developing relationships with the family and community. Over the years many graduates have successfully completed their stay in the hostel and left it mature and ready for life.

Hostel for Boys, Jerusalem
Al-Rad Hostel (tomorrow in Arabic), located in Beit Hanina neighborhood of Jerusalem, is an open, warm and supportive setting, which accommodates troubled boys aged 13-18 from Arab society. The Hanine hostel is mostly a supportive-educational place aimed at providing the boys with care, education and rehabilitation in an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance of the other and the different. The boys are referred both by the youth probation services and welfare services.
The boys are integrated upon admission within the city’s schools, according to their academic abilities. The daily schedule at the hostel is structured and includes shifts inside the hostel, care programs, assignment to community work and various classes; All this in order to teach the boys social norms, enhance their initiative and personal responsibility, direct them to develop their skills and enhance their contribution to society.
Along with the individual care provided to each and every boy, the hostel has treatment groups that focus on issues such as drugs and violence. There are also individual conversations held with the families. The hostel advocates working with parents, getting them to take responsibility for their son and maintain the bond between the boy and his family, thus preparing the boy and his family for his return to the community.

Hostel for Boys, Herzliya
“Ben Galim” is a maritime hostel located in the community and intended for 16 boys at-risk and in danger situations. The boys are referred to it from all over the country. During their stay at the hostel the boys study theoretical studies under HILH program, take part in a diverse and rich marine program, embark on survival trips, make contact with the guiding team and undergo a long and significant rehabilitation process.
The hostel’s goal is to allow every teenager to get involved in normative life, while growing personally, knowing the potential that lies within him and maximizing his full potential. To achieve this goal the hostel creates a supportive-educational space where the boy is at the center, and the functionaries enable, direct, care, educate and set a personal example. The boys stay in the hostel for one to three years, and are given the option to extend their stay voluntarily for the purpose of completing the treatment process.
Maritime aspect: The process in the hostel is based on the use of a maritime environment marine tools in accordance with the needs of the boys and with constant monitoring of the progress of each and every boy. In this framework, the boys are engaged daily in individual and group water activities that include swimming, diving, surfing, sea scouts’ activities, and activities that involve the use of various vessels: Kayaks, “optimists”, “swallows” and the like.
The project’s activity revolves around a yacht, purchased specifically for supportive purposes. During the voyages the boys learn to sail and operate the vessel. The sea, the ship, the acceptance of authority, the learning process and the group pose many challenges, through which they learn about themselves and their functioning as individuals within a group, in stressful situations, as commanders, and learn to obey orders issued by their friends.

Beit Elem is an open hostel for teenagers in the community, operating for about 30 years. The hostel hosts about 16 boys aged 17-21 and provides them with a preparatory framework for life that combines education, care and vocational preparation, towards integration into a normative life in the community.
The hostel is intended for teenage boys who have experienced difficulties and frustrations in the educational, family and social spheres and are interested in making a change in their lives. The framework offers boys the opportunity and chances to make a significant change in their lives and helps them adapt to accepted social norms, all in a warm, family and supportive atmosphere. Referrals come from probation services for youth, social services departments, community welfare agencies, diagnostic entities of the Ministry of Welfare, and “Korot Gag.”

Hostel for Girls, Kiryat Tivon
“Beit Lilac” is a hostel for troubled teenage girls aged 13-18. It is located in a home within the community and accepts girls from all over the country. The girls are referred by social services bureaus and social workers under the Youth Act, by court order. The hostel has a multi-professional staff that includes a manager, social worker, coordinator, counselors, a housekeeper and a national service recruit who provide the girls with a warm and homely setting and intensive emotional care, along with clear boundaries. The hostel provides a safe environment for girls who have experienced many crises during their lives, to enable them to gain achievements as all girls of their age, including obtaining a full matriculation certificate and military or national service. In addition to the school, which the girls attend in the mornings, the hostel offers a full afternoon activity routine that includes classes, care groups, a learning center and personal tutoring.

Hostel for Boys, Jerusalem
Chevruta Hostel serves as a long-term setting for boys from ultra-Orthodox and religious homes between the ages of 13 and 18 who have committed criminal offenses. The hostel, located in a three-story building, accepts teens from all over the country, following a referral from a probation service and welfare officials. All the boys staying in the hostel do so by court order.
The hostel has a multi-professional staff that includes a manager, three social workers, a coordinator, instructors, a teaching coordinator and teachers. These provide the boys with a safe environment, which allows them to go through a meaningful process. During the period, the boys receive individual and group treatment and are integrated in the learning center of HILA program, which allows them to complete educational gaps and take their matriculation exams.

Hostel for Girls, Ness Ziona
“Neot Hadar” hostel is an out-of-home setting designed for troubled girls who were evicted from their homes under court order. The hostel provides a long-term educational-supportive solution for girls aged 13-18, while providing a warm and homely setting. The hostel has a multi-professional staff that includes a manager, a coordinator, a social worker, a training team, a housekeeper and a group of volunteers that accompany, support and help with the lessons. The girls who come to the hostel have gone through difficult life events, and the hostel offers them an alternative home in boarding school conditions. The staff’s ambition is to integrate them into normative systems – schools, enrichment classes and other social circles, and to equip them with many tools that will allow them to reintegrate into society, while restoring their trust in the adult world which greatly hurt them in the past. The process at the hostel is based on a belief in the power, desire and ability of the girls to choose a normative, fulfilling and satisfying way of life.

Hostel for young men and women from the LGBT community, Holon
“Avnei Derech” provides a solution for young men and women aged 18-25 from the LGBT community, who need guidance and direction in embarking on an adult and independent life. The hostel was established as part of the development of a series of services for this population, and provides care in a dormitory setting that includes an intensive guidance envelope for a period of up to one and a half years. During the time that the young men and women are staying in the hostel, they tool and skills for life in the areas of employment, economics and household management alongside social skills, and gain additional sources of support in the wider community.
Target population
The hostel is intended for young men and women aged 18-25 from the LGBT community, who need support, guidance and care that includes a shelter, including:
Young men and women who are forced to leave their family home due to their sexual orientation or gender identity and need a reorganization period of several months prior to their departure for independent living.
Young people without skills for independent functioning, both in terms of life skills and in terms of occupational skills, who need guidance in acquiring these skills.
Young men and women during a gender adaptation process, who need intensive guidance during this period.
The hostel staff includes a manager, coordinator, social worker, housekeeper, evening counselors on shifts and volunteers throughout the day.

הוסטל בית הצברית מהווה בית מוגן ובטוח עבור 14 צעירות חסרות עורף משפחתי. ההוסטל הינו מסגרת מכוונת טראומה המעניקה לצעירות סביבה השואפת לתת הגנה, ביטחון, טיפול וקשר ולהכין את הצעירות ליציאה לחיים עצמאיים.
הצעירות משתלבות במסגרת עבודה/לימודים במהלך היום והשאיפה היא לחבר אותן לחיים בחוץ ולקהילה. ההוסטל מעניק לצעירות קבוצה טיפולית, טיפול רגשי פרטני ובהמשך גם פעילויות פנאי והעשרה.
בהוסטל צוות רב-מקצועי, הכולל מנהלת, עובדת סוציאלית, רכזת, אם בית, מדריכות ומתנדבות אשר מספקות לצעירות מסגרת חמה וביתית, טיפול רגשי אינטנסיבי, לצד גבולות ברורים ומודלים שונים לנשיות מיטיבה ומעצימה.
צוות ההוסטל מעניק סיוע בשיתוף פעולה עם מערכות ושירותים קהילתיים מחוץ לעמותת אותות ולבית הצברית הכולל:
– מיצוי זכויות- לדוגמא, עזרה בתהליכים מול הביטוח הלאומי.
– הנגשה לזכויות משפטיות ותעסוקתיות, שירותי חינוך, בריאות כללית ובריאות הנפש.
– תיווך והפניות לשירותים משלימים.
