“Neot Aviv” hostel, located in Kfar Shmaryahu, serves as a supportive-educational framework for 16 girls in distress and at-risk situations.
The hostel accepts girls from all over the country, referred through “Neara” guides, social workers under the Youth Law, probation service and diagnostic frameworks of the Youth Sponsorship Authority. The shelter’s staff includes a manager, coordinator, social worker, training staff, teaching staff and a wide team of volunteers.
The girls who stay at the shelter, aged 13-18, face a wide range of difficulties, and have the motivation and ability for a supportive process and change. The purpose of the hostel is to enable every girl to integrate within normative life, through personal development and maximal realization of her potential, and directing her toward this goal.
To meet this goal the hostel operates in all areas of the girls’ lives and provides them with education, training, care, enrichment, guidance and support, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; This is done using individual, group, family and community interventions.
The girls study in the hostel’s learning center in a program tailored to their needs and abilities, which prepares them for passing the matriculation exams.

Hostel for Boys, Ashkelon
Beit Dekel Hostel is an open community hostel founded in the summer of 1986. The hostel hosts up to 16 boys aged 17-21 and serves as a preparatory framework for life that combines education, care and rehabilitation. The framework provides an opportunity and chances for a significant change in the boys’ lives and helps them adapt to accepted social norms, all in a warm, familial and supportive atmosphere.
The hostel staff, which includes a manager, coordinator, social worker, housekeeper, national service recruit, counselors, and many volunteers, is professional and experienced in working with adolescents. The team places great emphasis on renewal, initiative and creativity, sees great importance in developing educational skills and personal talents and makes every effort to assist the boys through the supportive process and its success. The hostel offers regain belief in the boy and the importance of change. Much emphasis is placed on developing relationships with the family and community. Over the years many graduates have successfully completed their stay in the hostel and left it mature and ready for life.

Hostel for Boys, Jerusalem
Al-Rad Hostel (tomorrow in Arabic), located in Beit Hanina neighborhood of Jerusalem, is an open, warm and supportive setting, which accommodates troubled boys aged 13-18 from Arab society. The Hanine hostel is mostly a supportive-educational place aimed at providing the boys with care, education and rehabilitation in an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance of the other and the different. The boys are referred both by the youth probation services and welfare services.
The boys are integrated upon admission within the city’s schools, according to their academic abilities. The daily schedule at the hostel is structured and includes shifts inside the hostel, care programs, assignment to community work and various classes; All this in order to teach the boys social norms, enhance their initiative and personal responsibility, direct them to develop their skills and enhance their contribution to society.
Along with the individual care provided to each and every boy, the hostel has treatment groups that focus on issues such as drugs and violence. There are also individual conversations held with the families. The hostel advocates working with parents, getting them to take responsibility for their son and maintain the bond between the boy and his family, thus preparing the boy and his family for his return to the community.

Beit Elem is an open hostel for teenagers in the community, operating for about 30 years. The hostel hosts about 16 boys aged 17-21 and provides them with a preparatory framework for life that combines education, care and vocational preparation, towards integration into a normative life in the community.
The hostel is intended for teenage boys who have experienced difficulties and frustrations in the educational, family and social spheres and are interested in making a change in their lives. The framework offers boys the opportunity and chances to make a significant change in their lives and helps them adapt to accepted social norms, all in a warm, family and supportive atmosphere. Referrals come from probation services for youth, social services departments, community welfare agencies, diagnostic entities of the Ministry of Welfare, and “Korot Gag.”

Chevruta Hostel serves as a long-term setting for boys from ultra-Orthodox and religious homes between the ages of 13 and 18 who have committed criminal offenses. The hostel, located in a three-story building, accepts teens from all over the country, following a referral from a probation service and welfare officials. All the boys staying in the hostel do so by court order.
The hostel has a multi-professional staff that includes a manager, three social workers, a coordinator, instructors, a teaching coordinator and teachers. These provide the boys with a safe environment, which allows them to go through a meaningful process. During the period, the boys receive individual and group treatment and are integrated in the learning center of HILA program, which allows them to complete educational gaps and take their matriculation exams.

Hostel for young men and women from the LGBT community, Holon
“Avnei Derech” provides a solution for young men and women aged 18-25 from the LGBT community, who need guidance and direction in embarking on an adult and independent life. The hostel was established as part of the development of a series of services for this population, and provides care in a dormitory setting that includes an intensive guidance envelope for a period of up to one and a half years. During the time that the young men and women are staying in the hostel, they tool and skills for life in the areas of employment, economics and household management alongside social skills, and gain additional sources of support in the wider community.
Target population
The hostel is intended for young men and women aged 18-25 from the LGBT community, who need support, guidance and care that includes a shelter, including:
Young men and women who are forced to leave their family home due to their sexual orientation or gender identity and need a reorganization period of several months prior to their departure for independent living.
Young people without skills for independent functioning, both in terms of life skills and in terms of occupational skills, who need guidance in acquiring these skills.
Young men and women during a gender adaptation process, who need intensive guidance during this period.
The hostel staff includes a manager, coordinator, social worker, housekeeper, evening counselors on shifts and volunteers throughout the day.
